I kind of had a "break from music" week, despite the number of albums here. All of these were listened to on Saturday, Sunday, or Monday. The top row, all instrumental albums (note it's Andrew Bird's Useless Creatures, not Noble Beast... UC doesn't really have its own cover), were my soundtrack to a proofreading job. The next five records were sort of half-listened-to on a mellow Sunday, and I admit Radiohead's performance on the Grammys got me craving that album again, at least for a moment. Since then, it's been a lot of aimless shuffling during my commutes to work, no music while at work, no music once home at night.
One thing I've noticed: that Animal Collective album has all but evaporated from my mind. Though I think it's terrific, I have virtually no craving for it. In Rainbows, incidentally, is very similar in that way. I was sort of surprised to be in the mood for Radiohead this week as I've not been much in the mood for it since about January of last year--not long after its release--despite its quality.
